These terms cover your use of the TextDirectly Mac app and this website. By using TextDirectly, you agree to them. If you use it for a business, you agree for that business too.

What TextDirectly does

TextDirectly is software that runs on your Mac and sends texts you write through the Messages app, using your own Apple ID, iPhone number and phone plan. You decide who to text, what to say and when to send.

Acceptable use

You agree to:

• Only text people who know you or have agreed to hear from you, such as your customers, members, patients or clients.
• Honor every opt-out. TextDirectly stops texting anyone who replies STOP, and you must not work around that.
• Not use purchased, rented or scraped lists of phone numbers.
• Not send spam, harassment, threats, scams, misleading messages, or anything illegal.
• Not pretend to be someone else.

You are responsible for compliance

You are responsible for following every law and rule that applies to your texts. In the United States that includes the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and state texting and telemarketing laws. It also includes your carrier's rules and Apple's terms for Messages and iMessage. Features like STOP handling, quiet hours and daily limits help, but they do not make your texting compliant on their own. If you are unsure, ask a lawyer.

No guarantee of delivery

Texts travel through Apple and phone carriers, which we do not control. They may delay, filter or block texts, or limit your number or Apple ID. We do not guarantee that any text will be delivered, or that your number or account will not be flagged or restricted.

Plans, trial and billing

• The Free plan is free to use, with the limits shown on our pricing page.
• Each install gets a 7-day Pro trial that starts on your first real send. No card is needed, and you move to Free when it ends.
• Pro is a subscription billed by Stripe, monthly or yearly, at the price shown when you buy. It renews automatically until you cancel.
• You can cancel any time from Manage billing. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
• A Pro license key is for you or your business and works on up to 2 Macs. Do not share or resell it.

Your data

Your contacts, lists, messages and replies stay on your Mac, and you are responsible for them. Our privacy page explains what the app sends to us.

Ending access

You can stop using TextDirectly any time. We may suspend or end a license if it is used against these terms, for example to send spam.

Software provided as is

We work hard to make TextDirectly reliable, but it is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost business or a restricted phone number, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we will update the date at the top of this page.
