Questions, answered.
Do the texts really come from my number?
Yes. TextDirectly sends through the Messages app on your Mac, which uses your iPhone number. Replies come back to your phone and your Mac like any other text.
Are there any per-text fees?
No. Texts go through your own phone plan, so we never charge per message. You pay for Pro only if you choose it.
What do I need to use it?
A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) running macOS 13 or later, and an iPhone signed in to the same Apple ID with Text Message Forwarding turned on. The setup guide in the app walks you through it.
Does it work on Windows?
Not yet. TextDirectly is Mac only for now. Join the Windows waitlist and we will email you when it is ready.
Why does my Mac block it the first time?
macOS asks you to approve apps downloaded from the web the first time you open them. You click Open Anyway in System Settings once, and after that it opens normally. The download page shows each step.
Where are my contacts and replies stored?
Your contacts and replies stay on your Mac. The app contacts our server once a day to check your license, and payments are handled by Stripe. Read the privacy page for the details.
What happens when someone replies STOP?
The number goes on your do-not-text list right away and is skipped in every future campaign. You do not have to do anything.
What happens after the 7-day trial?
The Pro trial starts on your first real send. When it ends you stay on the Free plan, with 45 texts a day, unless you upgrade. Nothing is charged automatically.
Can I cancel Pro any time?
Yes. Open Manage billing from the app or the help center and cancel in one click. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
Who should I text?
Only people who know you or have agreed to hear from you, like your customers, members or clients. You are responsible for following texting laws and carrier rules. See our terms.
