What you need
- Mac with Apple SiliconM1 or newer, running macOS 13 or later
- Your iPhoneSigned in to the same Apple ID as your Mac
- Text Message Forwarding oniPhone Settings > Apps > Messages > Text Message Forwarding
TextDirectly.dmg, about 25 MB. Mac only for now.
Install
Install in four steps.
The first time you open TextDirectly, your Mac asks you to approve it. Here is exactly what you will see. You only do this once.

Drag TextDirectly to Applications
Open the downloaded file and drag the TextDirectly icon onto the Applications folder.

Open it, then click Done
The first time you open TextDirectly, macOS blocks it because it was downloaded from the web. This is expected. Click Done. Do not move it to the Trash.

Click Open Anyway
Open System Settings, click Privacy & Security, and scroll down to Security. Next to TextDirectly, click Open Anyway.

Confirm with your password or Touch ID
TextDirectly opens and its setup guide walks you through the rest. You only do this once. After that it opens like any other app.
